The Brea Planning Commission recently voted 4-0 to recommend sending Dwight Manley's major renovation proposal for Gaslight Square to the City Council. That project for the center between Flower and Orange streets is expected to be on the council's meeting agenda in May. The proposal is for the red brick buildings facing Imperial Highway and Orange Street to be torn down to make room for three new buildings, a restaurant, retail or medical business, plus a drive-thru restaurant. The two dental buildings on the property will remain.
